How long does the tour last and where does it finish?
The tour lasts approximately 2-2.5 hours and finishes at Kyoto Tourist Lounge Gion.
What areas does the E-Bike tour cover?
You’ll explore scenic and culturally rich areas such as Miyagawacho, Toyokuni Shrine, Kyoto National Museum (exterior), Kiyomizuzaka, Yasaka Pagoda, Ninenzaka, Maruyama Park, and Furukawacho Shopping Street—all beautifully illuminated at night.
How much does the tour cost per person?
The tour is 8,000 JPY per person. Please note: Participants must be 145 cm or taller, and children under 10 are not allowed for safety reasons.
How do I pay for the tour?
Please pay via credit card when booking on our website. Our cancellation and refund policy is detailed below.
What is included in the tour?
The tour fee includes an E-bike rental, and a guide. Food, drinks, transportation to the starting point, hotel pickup/drop-off, insurance, and gratuities are not included.
What should I bring?
We recommend comfortable clothing, closed-toe shoes, sunscreen, a hat/cap, water, and any questions you may have! During the rainy season, bring a raincoat or appropriate gear. Don’t forget cash if you'd like to sample local food and drinks along the way.
How many participants are on the tour?
The tour accommodates between 1 and 6 participants.
Can solo travelers join?
Yes! Solo travelers are welcome to join the night ride.
Is tipping the guide considered rude in Japan?
Tipping is not common in Japan, but if you feel your guide provided an exceptional experience, gratuities are always appreciated (but never expected).
Can I join the tour without booking?
No. Advance booking is required to ensure availability and for safety preparation. We also use your contact to notify you in case of weather-related cancellations.
Do you offer tours in languages other than English?
All tours are conducted in English only at this time.
Paid Tour Terms & Conditions
Booking Confirmation
Upon completing your booking, you will receive a confirmation email automatically. If you do not receive this email, please contact us at info@kyotolocalized.com, as your order may not have been processed correctly. Be sure to check your junk or spam folder.
Inclusions and Exclusions
The tour price covers bike rental and the guide fee. It does not include transportation costs, food, beverages, or any other additional expenses.
Booking Amendments
To reschedule your bike tour, please email us with your booking name, the name of the tour, and the new desired date. Amendments must be requested at least 72 hours before the tour departure time. We cannot accommodate changes within 24 hours of the scheduled departure.
Cancellations - Our Fault
If we must cancel the tour due to circumstances within our control, you will receive a full refund.
Cancellations - Your Request
To cancel your booking, please notify us at least 24 hours before the tour departure time for a full refund. Cancellations made within 24 hours of the tour will not be refunded. No-shows will also not be refunded.
Cancellations - Others
In the event of natural disasters (e.g., earthquakes, tsunamis, typhoons, extreme weather) or transportation system disruptions (e.g., train suspensions, flight cancellations) that prevent us from conducting the tour, we will notify you by email and provide a full refund. If you are delayed reaching the meeting point due to transportation issues, please email us with proof (e.g., a photo or screenshot) as soon as possible, and we will issue a full refund.
Late Policy
To ensure a smooth experience for all participants, please arrive on time. If you are more than 10 minutes late, you will be considered a “no-show,” and your booking will be canceled without a refund.
Liability & Responsibility
All activities, including our bike tours, carry inherent risks. While we make every effort to minimize these risks, Kyoto Localized assumes no liability or responsibility for any injury, loss, damage, or inconvenience sustained by participants or their property. Participants are responsible for their own safety and belongings during the tour.
