How long does the tour last and where does it finish?
The tour takes approximately 3 hours and finishes near Kiyomizu-dera.
How much does the tour cost?
The tour price is ¥3,500 per person. Children under 15 years old can join for free. Please bring a valid ID for age verification.
Where does the tour go?
We walk around the Higashiyama area of Kyoto. The tour ends near Kiyomizu-dera Temple. After the tour, you can continue shopping and sightseeing in the area. Please note that we do not enter temples or shrines that require an entrance fee.
What should I bring?
Comfortable walking shoes, sunscreen, a hat or cap, and water. During the rainy season, please bring an umbrella or raincoat.
Is tipping required?
Tipping is not required in Japan. However, if you enjoyed the tour, gratuities are always appreciated.
Can I join without booking?
No. Advance booking is required. We manage group sizes carefully to ensure the best experience.
Do you offer private tours?
This tour is operated as a small group public tour. For private tour requests, please contact us directly.

Booking Confirmation
Upon completing your booking, you will receive a confirmation email automatically. If you do not receive this email, please contact us at info@kyotolocalized.com, as your order may not have been processed correctly. Be sure to check your junk or spam folder.
Inclusions and Exclusions
The tour price covers bike rental and the guide fee. It does not include transportation costs, food, beverages, or any other additional expenses.
Booking Amendments
To reschedule your bike tour, please email us with your booking name, the name of the tour, and the new desired date. Amendments must be requested at least 72 hours before the tour departure time. We cannot accommodate changes within 24 hours of the scheduled departure.
Cancellations - Our Fault
If we must cancel the tour due to circumstances within our control, you will receive a full refund.
Cancellations - Your Request
To cancel your booking, please notify us at least 24 hours before the tour departure time for a full refund. Cancellations made within 24 hours of the tour will not be refunded. No-shows will also not be refunded.
Cancellations - Others
In the event of natural disasters (e.g., earthquakes, tsunamis, typhoons, extreme weather) or transportation system disruptions (e.g., train suspensions, flight cancellations) that prevent us from conducting the tour, we will notify you by email and provide a full refund. If you are delayed reaching the meeting point due to transportation issues, please email us with proof (e.g., a photo or screenshot) as soon as possible, and we will issue a full refund.
Late Policy
To ensure a smooth experience for all participants, please arrive on time. If you are more than 10 minutes late, you will be considered a “no-show,” and your booking will be canceled without a refund.
Liability & Responsibility
All activities, including our bike tours, carry inherent risks. While we make every effort to minimize these risks, Kyoto Localized assumes no liability or responsibility for any injury, loss, damage, or inconvenience sustained by participants or their property. Participants are responsible for their own safety and belongings during the tour.
