Kyoto Fushimi Inari E-Bike Tour

Who can join the bike tour?

Participants must be at least 10 years old, at least 145 cm (4 ft 9 in) tall, and weigh less than 120 kg (265 lb). There is no child fare; all participants pay the regular tour price.

Do I need cycling experience?

You should be comfortable and confident riding a bicycle. The tour may be difficult if you have little or no cycling experience.

What is included in the tour price?

The tour price includes the e-bike rental and guide fee. Personal injury insurance and medical expenses are not included.

Are admission fees included?

Admission to Sanjusangendo Temple is not included in the tour price. Please bring cash to pay the admission fee.

Is insurance included?

No. The tour does not include insurance covering your own injuries, accidents, or medical expenses. Please make sure you have your own appropriate insurance coverage before joining the tour.

Does the tour run in the rain?

Yes. The tour runs in the rain, and we provide raincoats for participants. If we cancel the tour, we’ll notify you at the email address you provided when booking.

Is a helmet provided?

Yes. Helmets are provided for all participants.

​

What should I wear for the bike tour?

Wear comfortable clothes suitable for cycling and sneakers or other secure, closed-toe shoes. In winter, gloves are required.

Can I bring luggage or a backpack?

Yes. Small backpacks are fine. Large luggage cannot be taken on the bike, but you can store it at Kyoto Tourist Lounge Gion during the tour.

Do you accept walk-ins?

No. Advance reservation is required. We do not accept walk-ins.

​

Can large groups join the bike tour?

The tour has a maximum of 8 participants. Groups of 9 or more should contact us about a private tour.

Do I need a driver’s license?

No. A driver’s license is not required to join the tour.

​

Can I be refused participation for safety reasons?

Yes. For everyone’s safety, you must follow the guide’s safety instructions and be able to control the e-bike safely. If the guide determines that your riding is unsafe or that you are not following safety instructions, we may refuse or end your participation in the tour. In this case, no refund will be provided.

Can I join the tour after drinking alcohol?

No. Riding a bicycle under the influence of alcohol is prohibited by law in Japan. If you have consumed alcohol before or during the tour, you will not be allowed to ride or continue the tour, and no refund will be provided.

Can I join if I’m pregnant or have a medical condition?

If you are pregnant or have a medical condition, injury, or other health concern that could affect your ability to ride an e-bike safely, we recommend that you do not join the tour.

You are responsible for deciding whether you are physically able to participate safely. If you choose not to participate because of pregnancy or a health-related concern, no refund will be provided.

What happens if I intentionally damage the e-bike or equipment?

If you intentionally damage or misuse an e-bike or other equipment, you may be responsible for the cost of repair or replacement.

What happens if I’m late?

Please arrive at the meeting point 15 minutes before the tour starts to allow time for bike fitting and preparation. The tour departs on time. If you are more than 10 minutes late, you will be considered a no-show and your booking will be canceled without a refund.

How do I cancel or change my booking?

Cancellations made at least 24 hours before the tour start time are eligible for a full refund. Cancellations made less than 24 hours before the tour are non-refundable.
